Talima Therapeutics is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of site-specific drug delivery systems. Our proprietary technology consists of bioerodible micro depot systems that are designed to provide sustained release of drugs locally, directly into the target tissue. Specifically, the technology has the potential to deliver high and sustained therapeutic levels of drug to the diseased area. This approach provides improved local efficacy and significantly reduces systemic safety and tolerability risks by minimizing blood levels of drug by up to a thousand-fold compared to conventional administration.
The lead product is a micro implant that delivers a broad-acting small molecule to the site of infection for the treatment of onychomycosis. The micro implant is placed minimally invasively with an applicator at the target site. Phase I/II clinical trials are currently underway in United States to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the micro implant. Additional products leveraging the Talima delivery technology to address large unmet needs in the treatment of local conditions are in preclinical development.
